Fly Now Pay Later, the leading travel provider that allows customers to spread the cost of their travel expenditures over monthly instalments, today announces the appointment of Georgios Gionis as Chief Product Officer.
Georgios was previously Director of Product Management for American Express and brings over 15 years of experience across product management, research and development within fintech and financial services.
Jasper Dykes, CEO and Founder of Fly Now Pay Later, commented: “Georgios has joined the Fly Now Pay Later team at a crucial point of our journey.
With experience across R&D and product management he will help grow this arm of the business as we look to expand our product offering with our trusted partners to make paying for travel even more flexible for everyone.
Georgios began his career teaching entrepreneurship and researching Information Technology before moving to more hands-on product management roles at OpenBet, Barclays and most recently American Express. With a particular focus on building and developing agile product teams and creating digital products that can scale easily across several markets and jurisdictions, Georgios will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to Fly Now Pay Later’s product division.
Since it was founded in 2015, Fly Now Pay Later has raised a total of $170 million in debt and equity funding. Most recently, $75m (£55.2m) equity and debt capital was provided by Series A investor Atalaya Capital Management to support expansion and scale its operational footprint in the world’s largest travel market, the US.
Through its work carving out strategic commercial partnerships, Fly Now Pay Later has been able to expand its offering to reach more holiday makers. Its partnerships range from SME travel operators and payment providers, to leading operators like Air Serbia, Azores Airlines, HotelsOne, Malaysia Airlines and TravelUp.
Jasper continues: “Since launch, our focus has always been on building a best-in-class product around our audience and their purchasing habits; seeing demand and customer loyalty solidify in the process.
With Georgios in the fold, we’re confident we can achieve our mission of making travel more accessible and affordable for more people.”
